Garden Route Golf Courses South Africa
22nd – 28th March 2014

5th Annual year – 68 golfers daily

Once again a great week of golf being played on world renowned golf courses along the Garden Route!
68 participants from all around the World got together for this unique and fun tournament.
Golfers travelled as far as UK, Germany, USA, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Klerksdorp, Katu and many other provinces

14 golfers in total came from Katu , what a breath of fresh air they were!

We had 6 guys from the UK visiting SA for the first time and it was a privilege to have had them on the tour, they were good fun and a good laugh throughout the week and they fell in love with the golf courses / people / food and wine and all have promised to return!

Our youngest player Reinhardt van Coller 17 years of age and our oldest Donald Oliver 80 years of age, last seen heading in a general direction of Cape Town, both of whom played quality golf throughout the week!

Not only was it a great week of golfing but also making new friends!  We had over 40 new participants playing in the 2014 Road trip and for the rest of the group it was like a reunion!

Concept 7 days of golf

A special welcome was made to our 2013 Ultimate Winners, Wim Fourie and Nico Maas!

Saturday 22nd March , The Tour started off with beautiful weather playing Plettenberg Bay in the morning and Goose Valley in the afternoon followed by prize giving and a lovely meal prepared by Goose Valley Golf Course! The lads enjoyed the 19th Hole until the mornings hours… knowing they only teeing off at 12h00 the next day at Simola!

The golf courses overall was in good conditions / lush green and beautiful!

Players were highly impressed with the quality of the golf courses, the trueness off the greens and hospitality shown both on and off the course!

Every golf course is unique in its own way and offers a different experience!
The weather was kind to us throughout the week, despite of the Tuesday being cancelled due to heavy rainfall, this however gave everybody the opportunity to enjoy the afternoon off with some actually waiting for the rain to stop so they could go back out  onto the course again.

Once again we threw a spanner in the wheel with enjoying an afternoon of bowls!
The boys had so much fun…  and we had some professionals amongst the field, and some who have never played before but thoroughly enjoyed the game and on the other hand the UK boys were more interested in winding each other up!
Another late night was enjoyed by most, as we danced the night away!

Moving towards the end of the week we had an afternoon planned at the Mossel Bay Casino at the Bravo Lounge!  Must say was hard to keep the boys at the Bravo Lounge as they all wondered off to the Casino…. This was on the cards after all! Must compliment the Bravo Lounge on the wonderful spread served to the group.

On the last day, Friday 28th March 2014 we played the final golf course, Pinnacle Point, and what a beautiful day and golf course to end off the 2014 Road Trip!
We spoiled the guys at Route 57 Restaurant in Mossel Bay, Louis Oosthuizen Restaurant
On arrival they all visited Louis Oosthuizen Pro Shop, next door to the Restaurant followed with wine tasting in his private cellar

What a way to end of the 2014 Ultimate Road Trip!
The boys enjoyed the rest of the evening sitting outside chatting away and having a good time with new and old friends!

We want to thank Klipdrift for doing a promo at each prize giving and keeping the glasses full of the boys! They spoiled the boys and girls at selected courses with a waterhole, most boys stayed a little longer at the par 3…

Congratulations to all the daily winners of each golf course played

Especially Arnold and Wayne for making a career best of 58 points and what made it even more special  the golf course they played was Pezula being a Championship golf course!!!
with our point system in place we had to cut them 7 shots off their handicap which means Wayne became a scratch handicap within a day!  PS Wayne don’t forget Golf in the Garden Route when you hit Sunshine Tour…
