Course Description:

With spectacular mountain views, False Bay and the ocean as a focal point, it is no wonder that Clovelly was one of Bobby Locke’s favourite courses. Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy and be challenged on this well-designed 18-hole course.

A tight par 72 with a testing mix of interesting holes and elevated greens accompanied by beautiful views of Silvermine River and lakes. Natural water features and a wide variety of indigenous fauna and flora, notably the variety of trees lining the fairways.

Difficulty of course:
The course is relatively short, but demands accuracy and good course  management. It provides opportunity for the average club golfer to enjoy a few  good holes while still being able to give the low handicaps a challenge. Due to its  geographic location the wind is the main defence.

Awards / Accolades
Clovelly has been consistently rated in the top 50 courses in South Africa. It has  also been consistently placed in the top 3 18-hole courses in the country for the  number of rounds by Handicaps Network Africa, showcasing its popularity.  A  proud part of Clovelly’s history is that in the 1970s, during apartheid in SA,  Clovelly was the first sports club to open its doors to all races, religions and  creeds.
Celebrity Visits:
Bobby Locke called Clovelly his home away from home when in the Cape.  Raymond Ackerman, founder of SA retail store Pick ‘n Pay, has been closely tied  to the Club since his father, Gus Ackerman, founded it with his business partner,  Mike Pevsner, in 1932. Most recently we have also been visited by Erik Anders-    Lang, social media influencer, and Skratch Golf presenter.
Dress Code:
Clovelly strives to provide a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for all members and guests. Therefore the dress code in the Clubhouse is casual. However on the course golfers are expected to wear collared shirts, appropriate pants with a belt, closed shoes. We expect all to dress appropriately to reflect the nature of a club of Clovelly’ stature. Right of Admission reserved.
Handicap policy:
It is expected that all golfers who intend to play 18-holes at Clovelly have an official handicap index.
Warm up / Practice facilities:
Yes – Putting and chipping green, with bunker, and limited distance (170m) warm up range
