Kingswood Estate Kingswood Estate

Minimum of three tee locations per hole for all levels of experience from amateurs to professionals.

Set amidst rolling fairways in the heart of George, the capital town of the Garden Route, this course offers geotextile bunkers, grassy greenside swales and superb greens. High vantage points along the course afford dramatic views of the surrounding Outeniqua Mountains. This, contrasted with natural valley holes and environmentally protected riverine locations, make the golf experience at Kingswood unique. The natural indigenous ingredients of the area have been fanatically protected to ensure the long-term quality of living and playing in this little piece of paradise.

Sally Little, South Africa’s legendary professional, puts the female footprint over architect Danie Obermeyer’s superbly designed course. This is especially evident when looking at the many choices given from tee boxes. Little understands the need for options at all levels of golf, while Obermeyer has provided a mix of strong holes, especially the par 3’s, with more forgiving scenario’s. Golfers are bound to enjoy the excellent variety on this course as play moves both left and right with a variety of uphill and downhill holes.

Course Description:

The Kingswood Golf Estate is perfectly placed between the Fancourt Links and George Golf Course at the very heart of the Garden Route’s golf hub.

From its perfect blend of design and scenery, to its temperate weather, you’re certain to find Kingswood’s Championship Golf Course a unique challenge, and one you’ll want to take up again and again.

The design is inspired by the Home of Golf, St Andrews (The Old Course) in Scotland with its Links style open fairways, undulating greens and traditional pot bunkers. There is no other course in South Africa like it, which makes it a ‘must play’ if you are travelling in the area.

On the first nine you should be off to a good start as the course follows the spectacular topography of the landscape. The tee boxes have recently been redone and the course is in mint condition. From the 10th, the views turn to the Outeniqua Mountains and they are breathtakingly beautiful. Your golf experience builds as each hole is different with its own nuances, trickery and challenge.
