Course Description:

Established in 1934 and now measuring 5564 metres, Southbroom Golf Club is considered one of South Africa’s finest and most popular holiday resort courses. Over the years, the challenge and natural beauty of the course has been systematically enhanced by the introduction of more indigenous flora, dams, water features and delightful stone bridges.

The course has recently undergone further significant changes and new water hazards, bunkers and narrower fairways now make it a ‘must play’ course. Eighteen exciting holes, each able to boast its own special feature, wind their way through some of the coast’s finest real estate and indigenous vegetation, flanked by the Indian Ocean.

The par 3 fourth must be the most famous hole on the Golf Coast and is undoubtedly the hallmark of this beautiful golf course. At just 112 metres, it has spectacular sea views and you can hear the waves crash over the rocks below the tee box. Depending on the direction and strength of the wind, you may be playing a gentle wedge into the green or hitting a full-blooded four iron.

The series of dams which come into play on all but eight holes are a refuge for an ever-increasing bird population and whales and dolphins can frequently be seen frolicking in the ocean from the fourth and fifth holes.
