FIRST ANNUAL LAST MAN STANDING TOURNAMENT

HOSTED IN APRIL 2013

Concept

Format: Individual Stableford

Played over 3 days – included Greenfees,  golf cart and daily prizes

Daily prize winners and overall prize winners – over the 3 days played

Itinerary:

Day 1 – Played Simola followed by Prize Giving and Dinner
Day 2:  Played Goose Valley – afternoon at leisure
Day 3:  Played Fancourt Outeniqua followed by Prize Giving & Lunch

NEW friends we made once again!
Golfers travelled from Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Polokwane, Pringle Bay, JHB
We had a lady playing in each 4 ball and must I say the Ladies really did well!

This was the first year we have hosted it and this will now become an Annual Event hosted by Golf in the Garden Route

Friday 26th April 2013
We started with an late Afternoon tee off at Simola.  The day perfect for golf, for some too hot. We received a warm welcome from Simola Golf Estate. What a beautiful golf course, the platers enjoyed the course and couldn’t stop talking about the beauty, not forgetting to say “what a challenging course”

We enjoyed the sun set at Simola while sipping on something refreshing.  Getting to know all and making new golfing buddies.

Soon after all players handed in their scorecards we had prize giving for the day and off course a few fines were handed out- “dangerous play”    ALOIS!!!!

Most of the players stayed in Knysna for the night as we played Goose Valley the next day.

Myself and my assistant stayed in Knysna at Overmeer Guest House – 4 Star most def.   A must stay for golfers – groups up to 24 golfers.  perfectly situated to the golf courses and night life, restaurants etc.

Saturday 27th April 2013
Early tee off at Goose Valley!  The morning started of fresh and turned out to be a perfect day.  Golfers all arrived early ready for day 2.  Quickly the ladies and gents got sorted and off they went.
Goose Valley suited the play of most golfers.  Some good scores were handed in!  We had another few fines for the day…  Lets just say “men playing off ladies tees”

The players enjoyed the afternoon off – afternoon at leisure

Sunday 28th April 2013

Last morning of play – Outeniqua.  Today was a random draw for all players so the leaders was all split up in different 4 balls.  
We  catched up with all players at the Halfway house to see how they doing – may I say that the leaders all asked about each other..
so the random draw worked.
What a beautiful golf course the players were saying!   We welcomed each 4 ball coming in on the 18th!  We enjoyed the afternoon sitting on the terrace, chatting away and having a meal followed by Prize Giving!

OVERALL WINNERS

in 3rd place Alois Haindl with 96 points

in 2nd Place – Jutta Jordaan with 99 points

and our Last “Women” Standing – Gina Venter with 102 points
